Ex 20:12 and Math 19:19 States this: Honour your father and your mother so that may live a long and happy life in the land where God put you! It is amazing how many people do not do this in obedience to God. We hear of old people everyday who are abandoned by their children although when these parents die, the children rush over to find out what the parents left to them in a will and they claim to have loved their late mother or father, just to lay their hands on whatever the old people had. These people are money and inheritance driven and it is a shame and i believe God will stand up for the old abandoned people. You see, God understands the hurt of the old people, He himself is a parent to us and He wants to be loved for who He is and not for what He can give us.He has anyway given the biggest inheritance we could have hoped for by giving us eternal life through Jesus, love Him for that, He knows what you need and will supply all your needs if you love Him without any expectancy of worldly things!

Jer 17:7 Says the following:a Blessing is on the man or woman who puts their faith ( trust ) in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
Please take note today that God is your banner and He will not ever let you down! Even when it seems you have been abandoned, it only means one thing, the devil is telling you lies, don't believe him, God will not abandone you, He fills all the gaps, even the whole that the goodbye to your loved one has left.

The days of false teaching

Have you ever wondered about why so many preachers of the modern age are living in wealth in contrast with many of their followers? I'll tell you why, it is because some preachers are money driven and not souls for the kingdom of Christ driven. The word of God talks about them in 1 Tim 6:3 - 5. Verse 5 says this, bitter talk of men who are evil in mind, and dead to what is true, taking the faith to be a way of making profit. You see, many people do believe in giving God His share of their income, we call the concept tithing, but tithing should be done out of love to God and not because the preacher makes you feel guilty or because he or she is a good sales person, of witch there are many in the ministry today. Many people tithe and then they ask, but why am i still battling with a shortage of money? You should ask yourself if you are indeed giving to the work of the Lord with a loving attitude and through being obedient, or have you been promised good things by a preacher who in turn puts your money (God's money ) in his own pocket. Heb 13:5 states that we should be free for the love of money and be content with what we have, and then God says He will be with us at all times, witch means He knows what we need and He will provide it. So i urge you, if all you hear in your church of how God will bless you because of your tithe and only good things are promised, and your pastor does not preach the real good news of salvation, then you should contemplate on finding another church where the word is preached to it's fullness and where you will be loved for who you are and not for what you have and give. That is why so many people do not get saved, for the lack of hearing that sin and living without Jesus as Lord will send them to hell. Money does not make the world go around, trusting Jesus and knowing Him, does !

The Word in you

James 1:21 Did you know that the Word of God is "planted" within us? This means that no man or woman can ever say they did not know what God's will is for their lives. God wants us to live our lives according to His word and He made it simple, for His Word, according to Heb 8:10 God wrote His laws in our minds and on our hearts, therefore we know His ways even if we don't personally know Him.How many times have you found yourself knowing it would be wrong doing something before you do it? You see that is because God wants all people to live a life of total submittance and victory in Him. Knowing this, it will be good to submit to God and His word and make Jesus the sole partner of all you do and you will see how Jesus takes control of every situation and you will be happy, even if it is just to know there is someone who stands up for you, remember Jesus even pleads for us when God the Father has all the right in the world to destroy us. Die lang pad

Partykeer is die pad wat mens saam met die Here stap, 'n lang en eensame pad. Jy kan jou vriende en familie verloor tydens hierdie staptog. In die lewe is daar byvoorbeeld twee poorte, `n nou poort en `n breë poort. Daar is twee paaie waarvan jy moet kies, die breë pad en die smal pad. Daar is twee bestemmings, die lewe en die verderf. Daar is twee groepe mense op die paaie, die baie en die min. Die een is wyd en oop en gemaklik, en daar is baie mense daarop. Dis `n lekker pad. Daar is jolliefikasie op daardie pad. Hulle kuier en skerts en lag en geniet dit. Die ander poort is smal en moeilik en dit is `n eensaam pad. Die Here Jesus staan vanmore hier voor jou en sê: Jy moet `n bewustelike keuse maak. Jy kan nie maar net aanploeter nie. As jy besluit om die pad van die ewige lewe te kies moet jy onthou: Die poort se draaihek laat ook nie bagasie toe nie. - Jy kan nie jou titels, of jou posisie of jou besittings saam neem as jy hier wil deur nie. - Hier gaan jy soos jou vinger deur, gestroop van alle pretensies. - Jy kan ook nie jou pad deur die hek koop nie. - Ongeag van hoe ywerig jy bygedra het tot die kerk en die gemeente ens. - daardie goed van jou pas nie deur die hek nie. Hier is dit jy en God alleen

Kies die lewe

Deut 30:19

Of ons gereed is of nie, eendag kom alles tot ‘n einde.
Daar sal geen sonsopkoms meer wees nie, geen minute, geen ure, geen dae nie.
Alles wat jy bymekaar gemaak het, of dit nou vir jou kosbaar is of nie, sal aan iemand anders behoort.

Jou rykdom, jou roem, jou wêreldse mag sal verskrompel tot onbelangrikheid.
Dit sal nie saak maak wat jy besit het nie of wat aan jou verskuldig is nie.
Jou haat, griewe, frustrasies en jaloesies sal uiteindelik verdwyn.

Maar so sal ook jou hoop, ambisies, planne en moet doen-lysies verval.

Die winste en verliese wat eens so belangrik gelyk het, sal vervaag.
Dit sal nie saak maak waar jy vandaan kom nie, of aan watter kant van die spoorlyn jy gebly het nie.
Dit sal nie saak maak of jy beeldskoon of briljant was nie.

Of jy ‘n man of vrou is, en wat die kleur van jou vel is, sal onbelangrik wees.

So, wat sal saak maak? Hoe sal die waarde van jou dae gemeet word?

Dit sal nie saak maak wat jy gekoop het nie, maar wat jy gebou het; nie wat jy het nie, maar wat jy gegee het.
Jou suksesse sal nie saak maak nie, maar wat jy vir die wêreld beteken het.

Dit sal nie saak maak wat jy geleer het nie, maar wat jy ander geleer het.

Elke daad van integriteit, medelye, moed of opoffering wat ander se lewens verryk, bemagtig of aangemoedig het om jou voorbeeld te volg, sal saak maak.
Jou bevoegdheid sal nie saak maak nie, maar jou karakter.

Dit sal nie saak maak hoeveel mense jy geken het nie, maar hoeveel mense jou vir altyd gaan mis wanneer jy weg is.
Jou herinneringe sal nie saak maak nie, maar wel die herinneringe aan jou wat sal bly voortleef in dié wat jou liefgehad het.
Dit sal saak maak hoe lank mense jou onthou, wie jou onthou en waarvoor jy onthou sal word.

Om ‘n lewe te leef wat saak maak gebeur nie per ongeluk nie. Dis nie ‘n kwessie van omstandighede nie, maar van keuse. KIES om ‘n lewe te leef wat saak maak.

Lewe terwyl jy lewe, want wie weet waar lê môre.

Waarmee is God se kindertjies besig?

In 2 Kor 12:20 sê Paulus dat hy bekommerd is oor wat hy sal vind sou hy die gemeente besoek. As God die kerk sou besoek in persoon sal dit sleg wees as Hy vers 20 se inhoud by ons sal vind : Twis, jaloersheid, toornigheid, verdeeltheid, kwaadsprekery, nuusdraery, verwaandheid en wanordelikheid.Die Here wil nie hê dat een van die goed by ons aanwesig moet wees nie, so kom ons doen ons bes met die leiding van die Heilige Gees saam om nie skuldig te wees aan een van die genoemde goed nie maar kom ons gee ons beste vir die Here. As daar nie iets goeterig is om te sê nie, sê dan eerder niks, en seën die wat jou te na kom. Mag die Here jou seën met net die beste!

Hou die deksel op!

In Ef 4:29 tot 32 Die woord van die Here vertel ons hier dat ons beheer moet hê oor dit wat ons sê en dat daar nie vuil woorde uit ons mond moet uitgaan nie. Die woorde wat ons praat moet van so 'n aard wees dat dit aan die wat dit hoor genade bewys en opbou, nie afbreek nie.Ons moet versigtig wees om nie die Heilige Gees te bedroef deur dit wat ons kwytraak nie, en onthou dat die toestaan van vergifnis broodnodig is as ons self vergifnis wil ontvang. Net 'n volwasse man en vrou in die Here kan in elk geval vergewe. Spreek lewe en nie dood en verwoesting nie. Mag die Here jou seën terwyl jy die deksel op jou gesiggie se opening hou!

The Way

You know, Jesus never talked about a way, He talked about THE way, in John 14:6 Jesus sais this" I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father exept through me and then in Proverbs 12:12 we find Solomon saying this, there is a way that SEEMS right to a man, but the end of it is death.You see, this can not happen if you choose Jesus as your way and life, It is that simple, with Jesus everything is possible and it is no secret what God can do, that is, if you let Him!

Prayer

You talk with God through prayer. One of the greatest privileges you have as a christian is to communicate with God. Just talk to Him as if talking to your best friend but remember to respect Him as God Allmighty. Tell God how wonderful He is and how much you love Him, we call that praise, and God loves to be praised, it makes Him happy and when He is happy, He blesses us. Repent your everyday sin to God through confessing your sin and asking for forgiveness. God is faithful to us and will forgive all our sin if we confess and mean it. Pray for other people, it is called intersession, and other people need you to pray for them. Some one might be praying for you right now. Don't forget to thank God for everything in your life, the good and the not so good, when you do that God will give you piece of mind and heart.God bless you.Pastor Martin Hodgkinson!

God is concerned about good stewardship,generosity and kingdom expansion.He'd want fruitful and faithful growing and living , not quick and easy make believe lives that does not last and is not to His glory !

Fuel

Sometimes we seem to  run out of fuel because we don't go anywhere ! Instead of blaming God for the standstill in our lives we should look for and find the mistake in our selves.There are several reasons for becoming stagnant such as not praying and not reading God's word.  And then there is the inability to worship God without asking Him anything , you see , many people don't seem to know that God knows what we need and when , and if we can learn to worship Him just because He is God , He will supply whatever we need without us having to ask Him , that is how much he cares and loves us.  So if your fuel has run out , refill by starting to worship God with all your heart and soul just because you love Him and you will see how soon you feel as good as new , good for the road ahead having all you need through the love of Christ.  May God bless you and keep you always !

People

Thinks about this ! People were created to be loved and things get created to be used! Maybe that is why the world is in such a mess, for now things are loved and people get used!So i ask you this,are you a lover or a user of people? On the other hand, are you being loved or being  used ? Change it!

Blessings

William Ward once said that the more we count the blessings we have , the less we will miss things we do not have , some times you would want stuff other people have like a new vehicle or a better house or what ever the case may be, but have you thaught about the burden some people carry to be able to afford the luxury you envy them to have ? My friend , find piece in being thankfull for what you have and thank God for it , don't fall in to the devil's trap of desire for earthly stuff that you may not even need.  God can and want's to fulfill all your needs , ask Him , trust Him and live the life of freedom and happiness in Christ.

Johnny Cash

My son in law gave me a cd for my 50th birthday on August 20 of the renowned country singer Johnny Cash.  What is really touching is how he sings his last songs ever asking God to help and forgive him.  I believe that Jesus can really save and set anybody free.  God has never and will never ignore a cry for help coming from the heart of who ever.God is that amazing, he is not a man that He would tell a lie or say something and not do it "NUM 23:19" When Mr Cash cried Lord help me walk another mile, i'm tired of walking all alone, believe me, Jesus loved him for his honesty and humbleness and took his hand to never let go of it ever again. I believe Johnny is now with Jesus,We call that GRACE!

Hurt

You know,i see them every day of my life,people hurting,and every one has his or her own explanation for hurting.Some hurt for not being loved,some hurt for not being forgiven,either by some one or for not being able to forgive themself,others hurt for loosing a loved one,or loosing lots of money,or going bankcrupt.Hear this,the hurt never stops unless Jesus puts a stop to it,The bible says in Math 11:28"Come unto me all ye that are heavy laden and i will give you rest"So think it over,should you not consider giving your life to Jesus,He will take care of you,he knows about hurt and suffering,He is an expert and will make you whole and teach you to lean on Him.You are hurting for a long time,look up to our Saviour for help,forgiveness and deliverence,trust Him with all your secrets and pain and start living in victory today.I know,i've been there!

Our Father

How many people do you think have somewhere on earth one day grasped at this simple prayer OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN just to make them feel safe or to make them feel better? Have you given it some thought and wondered whether God even heard them or not? I know that we all want to believe that when ever we pray God listens to us,although we forget that even for our husband or wife to listen and converse with us,we have to have a relationship with each other.The same goes when we talk to God ,He wants to respond but requires from us to have a relationship with Him. I can not pray "Our Father which art in heaven "if I am still earthly bound.I can not pray "May Your name be holy" if I use it in vain. I can not pray "Your kingdom come" if I don't honour that kingdom. Or "Your will be done" if I keep on fighting His will or "In heaven and earth" if I don't even know His will for my life. How do I ask God for daily needs if I refuse to help someone else in need?How do I ask forgiveness if I can't forgive and hold grudges? How do I ask not to be lead in to temptation if I am dishonest? Can't ask Him to deliver us from evil while we keep on going back to our old ways. We can not pray "Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory" if we keep on taking the glory and the credit.

I hope that this little thought helps you to solve certain problems and brings you into a relationship with God.
